The Professionals in Residence programme is generously sponsored by our alumnus, and prominent U.S. lawyer, Doug Wigdor (MLitt Social Studies, 1993).
The purpose of the programme is to give our students, Fellows, staff and alumni the opportunity to engage with highly distinguished professionals in any field outside of academia. During their residency, individuals are expected to headline a number of events, including a public lecture.
We relaunched the programme in 2024 and were delighted to welcome The Rt Hon Lord Karan Bilimoria, the founder of Cobra Beer, and Debbie Wosskow OBE, an entrepreneur and founder of Love Home Swap. Their fascinating talks and interviews are recorded on our YouTube channel.
This year we are delighted to welcome Nick English, co-founder of the luxury watchmaker Bremont, for his lecture about "Engineering a brand: A Story of Grit and British Manufacturing".
Other Professionals in Residence have included expert entrepreneur David Scrymgeour, leading documentary filmmaker Anthony Geffen and Doug Wigdor himself.
