St Cross 60th Anniversary Photography and Visual Art Competition

The College's Art Committee is very pleased to announce that given the College's celebration of its 60th anniversary this academic year, the annual Photography Competition has been expanded for 2026 to be the 60th Anniversary Photography and Visual Art Competition, which is open to all College members and alumni.

This year's theme is 'Celebration' which will be interpreted broadly. Entries need not be College-related; it can be anything the theme inspires for the creation of your photograph or visual artwork.

The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Friday 28th February 2026.

The Competition will be judged by the Art Committee and the 2026 prize is £200. The winning entry may be retained by the College for exhibition throughout the anniversary year.

Rules:

  • Photographic entries should be JPEG files which are printable at 300 dpi to size A4 and emailed to the Master's PA at master.pa@stx.ox.ac.uk. Other entries should be brought to the Master's PA through arrangement by email.
  • Each entrant can submit one competition entry in any visual art medium, but no larger than 1m x 1m x 1m in dimensions.
  • Any photograph and visual artwork must be entirely your own work (AI-generated entries will not be accepted).
  • Please remember to submit the title of your entry along with your name (entries will then be anonymised for judging).

Good luck!
